The songs on this CD include jazz, rock, pop, country, and world/Latin genres.
6 MP3 Songs
POP: 90's Pop, ROCK: Americana
Details:
Planned as a demo, these six original songs from Oregon songwriter Denis Mortenson, cover the gamut from pop, country blues, rock, to folk/Latin. Unlike his earlier work, which was recorded on cassettes and transferred to CDs, Denis hired professional musicians, such as Don Latarski and his band, Rue de Blues, J.C. Rico for male vocals (think Reuben Studdard level talent), and Erin Flood, a talented young female singer (she is in her own style category). J.C.'s roots in the blues and country-rock come out in his soulful renditions of 'Cruel, Cruel, World,' and 'The First Stone.' Erin shines on the whimsical jazz song, 'Decadent Darla.' Look to smile when she sings the cinematic 'Smile,' and cry when she sings the country song 'Midnight Blue,' and 'Litmus Test,' (with fantastic Latin guitar playing by Chilean guitarist, Ricardo Cardenas). There's something for everyone on the CD! Savor the 'tasty' lyrics of this collaboration between a talented amateur songwriter and seasoned professionals! Digitally mastered at Don Latarski's Crescent Records in Eugene, in December, 2004 and January, 2005.
