Description:

(ID 1463738)
4pc guitar pop band, raw, and urgent with jangly guitars, hooks, harmonies, and funky driven rhythms

12 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Roots Rock, FOLK: Power-folk

Details:
released independently in 1996 this energetic 4 pc. band crossed over from folk to rock with a raw and urgent Canadian rock sound all it's own. Features Lindsay Martell on lead vocals and guitar, Jason Euringer (Sarah Harmer Band) on guitar and vocals, Todd Sacerty (David Gogo) on bass and Bob Wilson (Wisemen/Shane MacGowan) on drums. All songs written by Lindsay Martell and Moris except "Room With the Sir John A. View written by Sarah Harmer. Moris was recorded and co-produced by Rick Salt at Island Pacific Studios in Nanaimo, Canada. Guest appearances by Sarah Harmer, Kate Fenner, and Ken Hamm, give the album added textures and creedence to how easily Moris made friends. The album immediately attracted radio attention upon release winning awards in demo competitions with both C-FOX in Vancouver, and Q-100 in Victoria with it's single 10:10 in rotation. The band was featured on 92.9 Fm's Locals Only program in Bellingham, Washington, U.S.A. and Much Music from Toronto's "Much West" television program.
The band's energy, unknown to many due to it's short lifespan, had definite impact and the cd resonates loudly still. Unfortunately, the van ran out of gas somewhere on the way to Saskatoon and the guys all found there own rides home. All the members of Moris have gone on to do some impressive musical work individually. Todd sacerty is again laying down solid grooves with Lindsay Martell in Lindsay's latest band, touring in support of his recent release of "r_evolution." The Moris album still sounds urgent and appealling.
