Details:
Molly Bancroft is a Renaissance Woman of Dance Music in 2006, while staying firmly rooted in her rock n roll leanings. Collaborating with Gabriel and Dresden in a scenerio that was ignited by a shared appreciation for vintage Depeche Mode, a rare and somewhat random connection led to a their Number 1 Billboard Charting single with the hot DJ duo, in the name of "tracking treasure down." The song was Molly's first jump into working with DJs as not only a singer but as a co-writer. The vibe with the duo was immediate and led to her continuing to do three more songs on their upcoming CD which is already busting up the charts in the UK and now, the US.

As for the beginnings of it all, Molly's life in music started as a jazz sax player and morphed into a rock singer/songwriter after she moved to Boston in the early '90s. Influenced by Nirvana as much as Suzanne Vega, Molly released her first 7" single (T/K Records) in 1992 under band name LIFT.

She moved to Atlanta to re-form LIFT as a quartet and had an incredibly successful run, signed to Daemon Records and touring with the Indigo Girls. In 2000 LIFT asked Murray Attaway to help produce their final album "September EP" and this music got the attention of many in the industry. LIFT showcased for labels and recorded jingles for Coca Cola and toured around the country playing big festivals and rock venues. Molly left the band she started in 2002 to create a solo album which she produced, heavily influenced by dance music, electronics and new grooves g.e. the Postal Service. Not only did the CD "Get Closer" earn Molly Rockrgrl Magazine's Grand Prize for the song "Hey Cheri," but it immediately received airplay on Atlanta's 99x and all the songs were licensed to various TV/Film outlets. During that time, Molly played many solo shows opening for acts such as Angie Aparo, Jonatha Brooke, Lori Carson and Marshall Crenshaw.
Producing other artists (Emily Boyd) and collaborating with DJs Gabriel and Dresden (remixers of Sarah McLachlan, Coldplay, Depeche Mode), Molly spent 2005 in the studio. Between studio stints she kept recording a new group of songs called RED DIRT DIARIES, set to be released in August 2006. "Red Dirt Diaries" features drummer Simone Simonton (Lift, Sugarland), and was recorded in rural Georgia over the span of a year, on analog tape, with a very warm and comforting vibe that seeped into the songs. Molly's voice, known for its distinctive and addictive qualities, already is capturing new fans, no matter what style of music. Molly's songwriting is also receiving accolades from international fans of her dance music collaborations as well as her stellar new material. Still at it stronger than ever, 2006 is going to be a very good year for Molly's voice to be heard.
