MOREâs appeal was evident early on with a strong Internet presence including over 10,000 single downloads on mp3.com, numerous favorable reviews, and the first of three consecutive annual invitations to Canadaâs largest musical festival, North by Northeast. The groupâs high-energy shows also brought them attention on the local scene as the New York Post dubbed them one of âThe Best Bands You Never Heard Ofâ within only one year of the groupâs formation.

2002 brought MORE its first full-length recording in the form of Someone Like No One, a compilation of demos of varying production quality which the group recorded with several producers. Three of the recordâs standout tracks -- âMs. Americaâ, âRememberâ and âObliviousâ -- were recorded and co-produced by Mike Barile (Candiria, 40 Below Summer and Corey Glover). The commercial quality of the songs was also evident as they received several spins on New York Cityâs Q104.3 Out of the Box new music radio show.

Later that year, following their first of three consecutive annual Guitar World-sponsored M.E.A.N.Y Fest appearances and shows sharing the stage with artists such as Jesse Malin, Josh Joplin, White Light Motorcade, Stage and Sponge, the group embarked on a West Coast tour in support of Someone Like No One. Performances at Arrowhead Pond, Whisky a Go-Go, Sunset Room, Hard Rock Café and Majestic Ventura Theater, and an on-air performance at KTYD in Santa Barbara, highlighted the 25+ date tour. The tour finished on a high note as MORE was awarded the 2002 L.A. Music Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Independent Music Scene.

In 2003, the group released a four-song EP entitled Second Time Around, which revealed the growth of the band and the development of their diverse sound. The appeal of Second Time Around was illustrated when fan favorite track âSignsâ shot to the #1 slot on AlternativeAddiction.comâs Unsigned Top Ten chart. A late year college radio promotion campaign also garnered Second Time Around spins on over 250 stations nationwide and prompted CMJ to name MORE a Featured Artist at the 2003 CMJ Music Marathon â the only group unaffiliated with a record label to be accorded such status that year (see 2003 CMJ New Music Report review).

With their creative energies brimming and the impetus of the college radio campaign behind them, the group hooked up with producers Werner F (The Stills, Bob Mould) and Stacy OâDell in 2004 to record Split the Difference â a six-track record which includes a blistering rock ânâ roll remake of Sealâs classic cut, Crazy. The groupâs commercial appeal was embraced by international fashion company Caffeine, which marketed their newest rock ânâ roll clothing line around the groupâs style and image, leading MORE to be featured in several issues of music and lifestyle magazines such as YRB and Complex. MORE closed out 2004 as one of only four finalists from over 250 bands who performed for two weeks at New York Cityâs top rock clubs in Guitar World Presents M.E.A.N.Y Fest 2004.

2005 saw MORE hit the stage several times at Starland Ballroom with the likes of Crossfade and No Address , among others. Their second invitation to showcase at the Millennium Music Conference primed the group for their return to the West Coast in support of the re-release of Split the Difference as a full album, which featured additional tracks mixed by John Siket (Helmet, Ours, Dave Matthews, Sonic Youth).
