SPOKEN WORD: With Music, NEW AGE: Healing
Details:
The Dalai Lama performs a dying meditation everyday. It enables him to embrace life to the fullest, while cultivating his spiritual practice. He is not alone.
While death and dying remain, for the most part, taboo subjects in our society, a growing number of people are starting to allow themselves to confront their mortality, just like the Dalai Lama. Ironically, the result is an unexpected appreciation for the preciousness of life. Graceful Passages is a Book and CD set that helps listeners address their mortality and, in turn, live each day to the fullest.
Gary Malkin is an award-winning composer/producer and performer dedicated to making a difference in the world by participating in projects that inspire the heart and catalyze social change. He has enjoyed a highly successful career for over 20 years, having received seven Emmys and six ASCAP awards acknowledging his work in film and television, commercials and CD production. Following the combined life events of the death of his father in 1991 and the birth of his daughter in 1992 a desire emerged to use his gifts for public service in more significant ways. Since then his music has supported film and TV with themes on tolerance, the environment, childrenâs welfare and interfaith spirituality. A sought-after keynote speaker and performer, he offers performances and trainings nationwide. Recently, he was asked to produce and musically direct the commemorative event on September 11th, 2002 at the Washington National Cathedral, entitled Voices from 9-11: A Gathering of Faith, Hope and Love.
