My music is very acoustic. It's a mix between blues, jazz, and folk. Some of the music is very chill but yet can rock out at the same time.

âAll I want to do is make music that people can relate too.â And Mike Blair has done exactly that. Performing his songs in local coffeehouses, restaurants and clubs Mike has developed a strong following from the college community. Mike has also had the opportunity to perform at the House of Blues.
Pertaining to Mikeâs writing style Mike is largely influenced from the writing styles of jazz standards. He also pulls from folks songs yet is able to write from his own particular point of view. âI write about the emotions I feel in certain relationships but mainly they deal with regret, loss, and down right loneliness. Not that I feel those emotions every moment of the day but I relate stronger to songs with that message of sadness then I do happy songs.â From that mindset Mike has been able to relate in a very personable way with his audience drawing in more and more fans each time.
Some of the artists Mike admires and is influenced by are Michael Buble, John Mayer, and Diana Krall. With influences such as those Mike works hard on having his own songs have the same impact on people through his acoustic guitar and vocal.
