Mike Best was born and raised in Southwestern Louisiana influenced from an early age by the strong musical culture of the south and a large family where everybody played something. Mike grew into an 80âs rocker playing the Bass in a number of bands before moving to California in 1983 with a rockinâ trio called The Need. Turns out the real need, was for salvation in Christ Jesus. In 1987 Mike accepted Christ as Savior helped by a cute hostess at a local restaurant he favored. This decision was followed by an immediate move into the Ministry playing Bass, singing, leading worship, directing choirs, and writing music for the church. In 1989 Mike married the love of his life Shelly, who, by the way, was the same cute hostess at the local restaurant. Three beautiful children followed; Hannah, Michael Jr., and Thomas. In 1996, Mikeâs ministry began to focus on leading men in worship. To this day, Mike is leading men in music at Cottonwood Christian Center in Los Alamitos, Ca. Most of the songs on this record were born out of that ministry. Mike is a firm believer that men have a strong desire to worship at the feet of Jesus, but require a special anointing to get them there. It is our hope and desire that these songs will draw men everywhere to worship in the presence of our King.
