Name: Michael Heller
Album: âAcid Reflexâ

Michael Heller was born in Detroit, Michigan on April 14, 1955. Music has always been an integral part of his life. He knew at a very early age that he would play the guitar. As a child of the sixties and a developing artist in Los Angeles in the seventies, he was fortunate to have seen legends such as Hendrix, Clapton, Zappa, Led Zeppelin perform. These shows greatly influenced him and galvanized his desire to play his instrument with passion and technical prowess. He began playing guitar as a young boy of 8. In the 70âs and eighties he played guitar in various bands and occasionally worked as a studio musician for other artists. He also plays blues harmonica and keyboards. In the late eighties he relocated with his wife and daughters to the Monterey, Ca. area, where in the mid nineties he began playing in âThe Next Blues Bandâ and at different sessions with some of the best musicians in the area. The Monterey blues scene was vibrant, with many clubs in the area featuring blues acts nearly every night of the week. Michael has played hundreds of shows to the delight of thousands of music lovers. Over the years he has developed the intensely lyrical and high energy style that makes his music so exciting to listen to. For the last several years he has been focusing on composing and recording his own original material, while still going out on occasion to sit in with friends at the local musical venues.

Michael composed the music on his first album, âAcid Reflex,â and plays all the instruments on the album. The songs on âAcid Reflexâ were developed over a period of years. For the recording of âAcid Reflexâ he enlisted the help of some of Montereyâs finest recording engineers.

Originally all of Michaelâs songs were dedicated to and titled âLynne.â She eventually re-named each song, with Michael describing the emotion and intent of each piece. . Denica created the artwork for the album cover on âAcid Reflex.â Michael hopes everyone enjoys the album as much as he enjoyed making it and has already begun work on songs for his second album, âAcid Redux,â which will include more electric and some original acoustic pieces. Michael, his wife Lynne, and daughter Mariah, a dancer and hip- hop musician herself, currently reside in Pebble Beach, California.
