Folk with a rock attitude, rock with a folk you attitude - with clues, Ya know what I mean?
10 MP3 Songs
FOLK: Political, ROCK: Acoustic
Details:
Like a complete unknown I came into this world in the usual way and into the usual soap opera of family. A long suffering grade school piano student, I got hold of a guitar at 11, dropped the piano (but not on my foot) and wrote my first song.
The first music I remember noticing was from the secret spaces of my teenage siblings. Buddy Holly, Elvis and Little Richard from my much older brother & Bob Dylan, Donovan and Simon and Garfunkle from my older sistah.
At 12, I began playing drums, and then played drums throughout high school in a cover band turned original because of MOI and the Beatles.
I switched to electric guitar to make it easier to sing and went professional after high school.
At twenty I had a Materialism Melt-Down, became a Hindu monk for eight years and nearly died in India. I returned to music and songwriting 'n I picked up the bass because a good bass player is hard to find.
Different bands and different plans have come and gone; I guess I've come full circle, writing and playing songs on guitar, except I do my own overdubbing and play all the instruments to boot. It's great fun, it keeps life simple and my art pure. So Bob's your f'n uncle!
