Catholic/ Christian musician Michael Patrick New CD Turn To God. (As seen on EWTN Backstage)
12 MP3 Songs
GOSPEL: Contemporary Gospel, GOSPEL: Traditional Gospel
Details:
Three years ago I fell down to my knees and asked God to completely change my life. Right after my prayer a song came to me - Turn to God. I dusted off my guitar and the melody came to me and the words flowed. Before the end of the night the song was completed. I never wrote a song that fast in my life. Then other songs came to me one right after another. God gave me both the music and the words. I knew then that this is what God wanted me
to do.
After I completed 14 songs, I knew that I had to find an arranger to help me piece the music together. I prayed for God to send me the right arranger. After many interviews, I found an arranger that I knew God had sent. We clicked instantly and he was the only arranger that I have ever worked with that did not try to change my style. His name was Tim Bradford.
We immediately got started on the first song and everything fell into place. But unfortunately, soon after the first song was completed, everything started to go wrong. Tim Bradford called me and said that I would have to find a new arranger because he was just diagnosed with a brain tumor. He was afraid that he would not make it through surgery and even if he did, he would slow me down. I knew I couldn't let him go because God sent him to
me.
Six months later we started working on the songs again. Due to Tim's poor health it was a long, hard, stressful battle to complete the songs. It took over 2 years to completely arrange these songs. We even had to delete two songs because he didn't have his health back yet. We both came very close to giving up but God kept us going. The CD was finally finished.
After the CD was completed, I knew that I needed to find a cover picture for the CD. Many people said that it should be a picture of me with my guitar in a religious setting. I hired a professional photographer and had my picture taken at various locations. Out of 48 pictures taken, none turned out. I prayed to God to show me what to do. I then knew that the focus was not to be on me but on God. I then happened to come across a magazine that had a picture on it of the trinity. Its awesome beauty struck me and the story touched my heart. The artist, Barbara Francis, died soon after completing this painting. I was able to track down her husband, Bob Francis, who gave me permission to use the painting on my CD cover
