COUNTRY: Country Blues, BLUES: Jazzy Blues
Details:
MIKE MACK: I play music the only way I know---How I feel it. I started at a young age picking lead guitar on a 1964 Strat that my dad bought me for $100. Playing for awhile for numerous bands and clubs it seemed as if there were plenty of guitars on stage, but certain sounds were lacking. My dad (Roy Mack, a long time steel guitar player) told me, âSon, lead players are a dime a dozen, they are everywhere.â After hearing this I changed directions and bought my first steel guitar. I took one lesson and decided that was not the way I wanted to play. So, I taught myself to play my music in my own style and feel. I know this is not your traditional steel guitar music. There is a mixture of songs---blues, jazz, rock and country.
I played steel guitar in bands mostly in the Four States area around Texarkana, Tx. I played in some dives, VFWâs and some really nice clubs such as the Orange Blossom Special in Mt. Pleasant, TX and the Gold Star Ballroom in Lone Star, Tx. (each for two years straight). I had the opportunity in these clubs to front a lot of up and coming stars.
I want to thank my wife, Sherry, for her patience and ability to record and produce the final product. I would also like to thank musicians Randall Lee and Mike Wallis (my friends) for their help. Also Galen Anderson---Magic Wand Music--BMI.
I would like to give special thanks to Brian, Brandon, T.J., Mindi and David for loving a music minded dad. You are all great at what you do in life--Love Ya.
To anyone who hears and feels my music, I hope you enjoy it. THANKS
