Former V-Roys front man, Mic Harrison's first ever solo album. Recorded in 1993 before Mic joined the V-Roys, Don't Bail contains the same country/ pop/ rock stylings that would become the staple sound for that band from Knoxville.
12 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Americana, COUNTRY: Country Pop
Details:
Mic Harrison, former guitarist/singer/songwriter for the Knoxville-based band The V-Roys, has released his solo project titled Don't Bail on compact disc. The record was originally recorded in October 1993 at Southern Sound Studio in Knoxville, and was released on cassette at that time. The project was just recently digitally mastered, and the final result is a disc that highlights Harrison's knack for writing great hooks and catchy lyrics. A skill that Harrison crafted before his days as a member of The V-Roys, and one, which continues to get even better with every song, he writes. The project is released on Lynn Point Records.
Harrison, living in his native west Tennessee at the time of the recording, was convinced by his childhood compatriot Jeff Bills (former drummer for the V-Roys) to come to Knoxville in late 1993 and record some of Harrison's songs for a solo project. With Bills' help, the two enlisted some of Knoxville's best musicians for the studio sessions. Contributing to the record at the time were Bills and Scott Miller (both former V-Roy bandmates of Harrison's), Knoxville veteran musician Terry Hill (Balboa, Plynth, and others), former Judybat Peg Hambright, former Taoist Cowboy guitarist Scott Carpenter, former Swamis guitarist Daniel Moore, and banjo picker John Taylor. The end result is a record full of great playing, crafty songwriting with a pop edge, and a sign of things to come from a songwriter just beginning to realize his potential.
