I would have to say that my style of singing would best fit in the "POP" category, mainly because of the material that I have chosen for this CD,but there are some elements of jazz as well.

Emiko Mizoguchi started piano at age 4. Graduated Kunitachi Music University in Tokyo,Japan.Emiko moved to New York in 1981,where she currently resides.She has studied piano and singing with Frank Owens,Ernie Washington,Jaki Byard,Abbey Lincoln,Dakota Staton,Barry Harris and Martha Miyake,among others.Emiko has performed at the Dairy in Central Park,the New York Women's Jazz Festival at the Jazz Center,and many other locations,as well as at night clubs and parties.Concert of her owen as leader include those with UJC: three New York Women's Jazz Festivals,two Cherry Blossom Festivals,the Asian American Jazz Connection 2001 Summer Jazz Festival,the first annual New York Asian American Jazz Festival,Bryant Park Summer Concerts and her three September Birthday Concerts at Cobi's Place.
