They take as their influences, the soul, jazz, blues, and rock and roll music popular from the 1940's through the 1960's.
Horn and rhythm driven, shades of everybody from Louis Jordan, Little Richard, to the Stax, Atlantic, and Motown sounds of the 60's finds its' way into the sound of mikes modern music.
Conceived out of a true love for the above mentioned, the album featured here, "Small Town Retirement", isn't about nostalgia.
It's about a group of people who play a music they grew up and feel comfortable with, and to pay it the continuing attention it so deserves.
