Michael Fernando also known by his stage name, Mervin, started singing from the age of ten. Since then he participated in many vocal competetions and never failed to win. He learned classical music from Mr. K.M.C. Nadhan and Mr. Subash Venjamuri. He also learned Hindustani classical from Ms. Sunita Madhu.

In his musical journey, Michael has had the privilege to perform on stage with great singers like S.P.Bala, Susheela, Janaki, Hariharan, Chitra, and Yesudas.

Michael is always very close to God and he has never failed to thank God for giving him this wonderful voice and talent. Prior to releasing Though Far Away, Michael released a number of Chrisitian albums with traditional lyrics in Tamil with light classical melodies. Many famous Indian singers have sung under his music direction.

Michael continues to pursue his dream and has come a long way with his hard work and great support from his freinds and family. He is doing number of concerts all over USA especially places like New York, Washington, Tampa, Philedelphia, and California. His musical journey
