M-WA
M-wa brings a new hybrid sound to the pop world. The CD is a mixture of live and studio recordings. This music is for people who are fans of all different styles of music. People who aren't interested in the confines of categorizing music, and believe in the commonality of sound. The 14 track CD crosses subjects such as love, devotion, and spiritualism with songs like the first track "The Rhythm", "Pure", and What I Have, where M-wa ties the similarities of love between two people and a higher power. Kick-ass fun and fantasy with songs like "Spacegirl", "Pleasure Girl", and "Chantilly". From songs of searching for love-lossed with "Lost Highway", to gangsta devotion gone bad with the songs "My Life for You" and "December". With comparisons from Prince, Marvin Gaye, to Portishead to The Doors, M-wa has blended together varied styles and influences to create his own original sound. check out the website at www.lunaticfringeproductions.com
M-WA's unique style is an interflow of genres, derivative of his diverse musical background.
M-WA realizes a common thread in all music, no matter what genre. "Whether it's Celtic, Zulu, Mongolian, Cherokee, or straight down-home blues, rock-and-roll, or hip-hop...it's tribal." "Music is truly the universal language." And M-WA's music crosses so many styles: he is a master linguist in this "universal language."
M-WA's music is a reflection of the listening public today, varied tastes and styles. "None of my friends or myself listens to the same style of music. It's not surprising these days to see someone's music collection, and see rap, jazz, raggae, electronica, gospel, country, etc. on the same rack. The world is smaller. If it's good and touches a chord, they'll listen to it." It also stems from his upbringing. All different types of music could be heard in the house, and the children were educated on the different cultures of the world, and the similarities between them.
M-WA has an innate passion to create, trying to bring something new to the spectrum of music. "It's all about no boundaries for me. I don't create music with any style or category in mind. I don't think I could create anything worthwhile if I restricted myself by trying to create something for no other purpose than trying to fit in some kind of niche. One's mind must be free of those kinds of restrictions if one is to add something different to the tapestry. If it happens to fall into a niche of some kind it's pure coincidence. Still, it's all good as long as it's positive..." check out the website at www.lunaticfringeproductions.com
