Description:

(ID 1474391)
This is beautiful, trippy jazz with moments of hard edged, virtuosic guitar. Stuart McCallum is the most exciting jazz guitarist in the UK today. He is the guitarist for the Cinematic Orchestra and has also worked alongside Kenny Wheeler and John Surman.

Details:
'Stuart McCallum is simply the most talented and original guitarist that I have ever heard'
(Brian Bicat JATP)

Stuart's original use of loops and effects combined with his extensive harmonic knowledge make him one of the most in demand guitarists on the scene today.

He has recorded with The Cinematic Orchestra, Ari Hoenig, Tim Garland and Don Weller and has performed, to critical acclaim, with the likes of Kenny Wheeler, John Surman and Mike Gibbs.

His music covers both ends of the emotional spectrum - from mesmerising beauty to explosively turbulent energy.

Review from the Guardian in the UK.....

'He spends much of the set coaxing beguiling magic from his electric guitar, which is plugged into an array of pedals and effects units. His music sounds like Silent Way-era Miles Davis refracted through the sonic innovations of electronic dance acts.

The opening number begins with McCallum on solo guitar, uncoiling a web of chiming harmonics and vibrating drone tones. From this he builds a barrage of brawny jazz-rock triplets, before dissolving into a swamp of feedback.'
