Since 2004, Your Name in Vain has been exploding out of Greenville, NC like a broken heart gone septic. With an infectious and dynamic blend of rock, post hard-core, and punk, they have captivated audiences across North Carolina through their heart felt and mercurial performances.
Your Name in Vain can ultimately be described as a meeting of the minds with each member's varying personal influences coalescing in perfect harmony. The band found its humble beginnings through the initial collaboration of vocalist Alex Jones and guitarist Josh Williams. Following a few months of writing, the two decided to form the band and recruited long time friends Jason Thompson and Shane Crump to guitar and bass respectively. The final lineup was solidified in December 2004 with the addition of drummer J.P. Prieto. The rest as they say is history. The band has since been moving in fast forward, developing a considerable following in its short period of existence. In December 2005, Your Name in Vain released their debut EP, "Six Accounts of Skin Deep Beauty", through the small Raleigh based indie label, Tragic Hero Records.
With the poetically introspective lyrics and searing vocals of Alex Jones, innovative guitar work of Jason Thompson and Josh Williams, and pulse pounding drumming and bass of J.P. Prieto & Shane Crump, the sky seems to be the limit for this young and talented 5 piece outfit from the Eastern reaches of North Carolina.
