This album is part of the mainstream Japanese pop music (J-POP). While still a student in Japan, Yuichiro Takayanagi was a national finalist in "Pop-Con," YAMAHA Popular Song Contest, from which many of Japan's top artists and writers emerged, such as Miyuki Nakajima, Chage & Asuka, Junko Yagami, and so on. J-POP is similar to American pop, or light rock, but is a little more melodic (rather than rhythmic), and tends to use more complex chord patterns. All the tunes kick-start nicely, all upbeat and very pleasant to listen to, but the Japanese lyrics are fairly profound (Theme: Earth, Peace and Love), and each song has a story (introduced below in English)---All songs are written by Yuichiro, as well as music arrangements and programming. All vocals and Guitar solos (track 2 & 3) are also Yuichiro's.

Track 1: Kazeto Hikarito Umito (Wind, Sun and Ocean)

This is a nice love song with a story. The gist of the original Japanese lyrics is---A young couple walks up a hill. When they reach the hilltop, there spreads in front of them a beautiful view of the ocean. The young woman is amazed at the view and walks ahead. Standing behind, the young man can only see the outline of his girlfriend against the bright ocean. Right at that moment, he feels as though he has experienced that exact moment sometime before, but a long, long time ago. It feels as though it were a scene from a dream. He then wonders if it was a memory from his former life. Watching his girlfriend's beautiful long hair move in the fresh breeze, he feels certain that whenever the last time had been, the person who stood there with him, had to be her. And he says to himself that he will remember this moment if the two should come across again in another life, even a thousand years from now, as long as the beauty of the ocean is kept the same until then, which will be sure to remind him of this precious moment....." The song has an indirect message: "Save the Ocean; Save the World"

Track 2: "Absolutely, Desperately, Kimiwo Aisu"

"Kimiwo Aisu" means 'I am in love with you'. This is about a guy who grew up with a girl and has always protected her like a little sister. Acting like a big brother all the time, he never admitted to her, or to himself, that he loved her and was unable to fall in love with any other woman. Deep down, he has always known that she felt the same way. An unexpected turn of events takes him away from her to a distant place. Being away from home, he feels an empty spot in his heart, and he realizes that, that emptiness can only be filled by one person. Finally, he decides that whatever cause that is keeping him away will never be worth losing her. On his way home, he resolves to himself that absolutely and desperately he is in love with her, and that no one else but she could ever fill his empty heart.

Track 3: RYOMA; An Anti-War Song

This is a song of a hero and also is a not-so-obvious anti-war song based on the life of Ryoma Sakamoto, a revolutionist of 19th century Japan, who lead the feudal Japan to democracy without a bloodshed. The original Japanese lyrics reads: Ryoma, only you could talk them into giving up guns and swords, with that childlike smile of yours.... ("Ryoma arasou kotono orokasa wo kodomono egaode kimiga toku....")

Track 4: Kyorito Jikanwo Koete (Beyond Time and Distance)

This is a song about a guy who one day receives a letter from his long-separated surfing buddy, post-stamped from a distant tropical island. He also finds out that his friend died shortly after he posted that letter. Thinking that was the very last letter his friend wrote while on Earth, he decides to fly to the tropical island to find out what his old friend's final years were like. The song starts like this: "If anyone is to feel sorry for him, they just don't know---they've never seen a place like this. Palms sway in the fresh breeze from the sea, and white sea birds sparkle against the blue of the ocean. I am now using this pair of sunglasses that you left behind .... "
