Elwin Maiden II a.k.a. Yung E is a 21-year-old rapper/producer/songwriter based out of Fairfield, Ca. His father, Elwin Maiden, a singer/songwriter/bassist for Multiple Choice, a Vallejo based show band in the 70âs and early 80âs, introduced Yung E to music at a very young age in Okinawa, Japan. Yung E began in music as a singer and trumpet player in elementary school with astonishing natural ability. By middle school he had become an accomplished solo trumpeter who constantly had his hand in the composition of each piece of music he and his classmates performed. As a jazz musician he has performed and in several festivals from California to New Orleans receiving standing ovations for his solos regularly.
Yung Eâs popularity was constantly growing around the Fairfield and Vacaville areas. Simultaneously he participated in several poetry slams and other miscellaneous writing contests around Solano County. He began realizing his skill with words as more and more entries yielded first place awards. When high school came Yung E had begun learning how to transfer his unique ideas from acoustic thoughts to quality songs. Yung E, going by the moniker El Dolla, began performing his songs at talent shows and parties displaying a knack to coax listeners out of their seats. He and his father, sharing the same dream, began recording with aspirations of starting their own record label. That dream was realized in 2005 when his father formed the label Hangout Records.
In 2006 Yung E made his debut as a member of Avenue 707, the first group released by Hangout Records. The album, Hangout Records Presents: Avenue 707, included songs that were written, performed, and produced by Yung E. Now it is time for Yung E to step out on his own with his much anticipated, self-titled solo debut.
