Rooted in the traditions of her ancestors and a life close to the earth, she now builds original handmade drums and performs drumming, chanting and music around the United States.

DESERT SONG, one of Martinez's many independent albums, is a collection of studio performances, including personal stories and thoughts shared through spoken word. The simple harmonies and indigenous rhythms are just enough to help listeners absorb the potency of Martinez's familial messages.
