Over Jericho, the Beginnings
The whole idea of Over Jericho actually grew from a praise band, which started in the summer of 2005. Coleman and Ben had been good friends for a few years and they decided to start a praise and worship band. Ben quickly jumped on Steven to do bass and the band started jamming together. Needing a drummer and backup vocalist Ben found Justin Gangel to drums and Dusty Harris to record for the first EP (A Four Finger Prayer). After the EP was recorded and released, Dusty left for a mission trip in Africa and is currently working on his solo project. Justin is currently pursuing his side project, Endure The Fall, full time with Andy P. our merch guy.
With the band needing a drummer Steven called up Steve Weir and asked him to play in the band. There was an immediate connection and Over Jericho continued forward with him.
Today we still play out of Valley Center, California and are playing shows when we can. We are really just four guys who are doing what God intended us to do, to praise Him with our voices, our instruments and our lives.
