Social, political and spiritual commentaries from and about American life in the new century, with thought inspiring 60s rooted Rockjazz instruments and harmonic vocals.
18 MP3 Songs
ROCK: 60's Rock, JAZZ: Jazz Vocals
Details:
From the Midwest and the North East they traveled seperately, playing and living, finally meeting in Southwest Florida. They had many heroes in common. All had a deep love of music. They performed together and apart in venues throughout the South. Some settled, some still wandering. All are Humble Men.
Old Humble Men :
Jimmy Argentino: Drums, all Percussion and provided hours of laughter, with his impressions, jokes and rubber faced caricatures.
Mick Slusser: Bass, wrote songs and lyrics, worked on the art, sound effects, and kept us all on a steady course through his research, contacts, level head and even temper.
Steve Reager: all Vocals (except The Skyâs Still Blue and I Follow The Son), Harmonica, lyrics, drank coffee and lent an ear.
Ralph Busto: All Guitars, Roland Synth, vocals on The Skyâs Still Blue and I Follow The Son , wrote lyrics and music, all other sounds, Engineering, recording and producing ( Rude Rubes Productions) the sessions.
Ralph lived this project from day one, never giving up and finally having seen the project to completion, disappeared to the Northland for some much deserved R&R.
Vance Wittaker: "Vance Attack" Guitar on âMass Confusionâ (Thanks V)
Dysfunctional Reality was conceived as a project over the last few years, 2002-2006 and began with sessions at Skile Rd. Studio (thanks to Kevin) in North Port, Florida. After some initial rhythm track and guide vocal recordings., we moved into Ralphâs Rude Rubes Studio and completed all other tracks there. (Thanks to Mick and Ralph for all the sacrifices and generally putting up with us with a smile)
As events in our lives (the passing of our Parents, 911, Hurricane Charley, Presidential elections, and various personal life challenges) were affecting us, we portrayed a lot of those impressions in our songs. Much of our lives are there, if you listen.
Credit where creditâs due:
Clay Wiggins: âThe Most Honorable Mentionâ: goes to our good friend and excellent engineer, Clay Wiggins, for above and beyond the call and all. (5th OHM)
Alan Keeping: âKeeping the Faithâ: much thanks to Alan, for his engineering expertise. (Alan, we are honored by your efforts)
The Cover photo was shot by Mick, at what was formerly the âGood Times IIâ in Punta Gorda, Florida, The club was destroyed by Hurricane Charley 2004. The âBowlegs statue in front of the door, on the cover, was created by Tony Armeni ( Thanks for your permission to use your amazing work of art)
