Details:
"...discovering Olenka is like finding a gold brick wrapped in a $50 bill..." - Eric Seaquist, N.Y.C.
Rhythms of Another Life, Olenka's second fully-produced CD, is the result of her project called "World Rhythms is Original Music" for which she received partial funding from the Iowa Arts Council. In applying for the grant she competed with large organizations like the Cedar Rapids Symphony Orchestra and the Des Moines Opera Company. Olenka's was the largest grant awarded for an individual artist project in that season. She has subsequently been a visiting artist in dozens of schools teaching world rhythms and songwriting, including being the first Visiting Artist for the prestigious Quad City Arts organization who was actually a local of the Quad Cities. Her band, which includes an a cappella Slavic women's vocal section, showcases contemporary world pop music along with Olenka's original material.
Listeners who have purchased her debut CD, Making Arrows, confess to having it constantly in the CD changer.
Shuffle in Rhythms of Another Life, and enjoy!
