The band ONE evolved from Steve Blankâs years of playing acoustic drums, with an âattitudeâ, in various cover and original bands around the South side of Chicago. Progressive is as progressive does⦠in 1998, electronic drums came into the life of this multi-talented drummer. Finally, the more melodic ideas in his head had a medium that would allow the birth of something unique, cutting edge and challenging enough to allow the talent within to be released.

An idea voiced by a close friend prompted the album Steel Tracks to be written. The sound of electronic steel drums being Steveâs favorite, helped make this idea a reality. A drum beat was recorded, and then a complimentary melody or rhythm was added, then another. After layering these sounds, a song was born.

The seemingly unlimited number of sounds available in the world today has led to other albums of unique melodies and rhythms, with moods futuristic to eerie, that help make his songs unmistakably his! The albums ONE and WITH NATURE will be available on-line in the very near future.
