Sean Stewart AKA QuestSean and Mustafa Shakir AKA M.E. became rap partners in 1998 while Marko Jankovic was in school at the prestigious Berklee College of music in Boston. Later in Los Angeles, Jankovic would connect with the duo, thanks to an ad in a music magazine. Opus 7 was formed in 2004 and the three were able to create the music that lay dormant in them for years.
