The Opposition are not just another entry in the legions of post-punk stadium rock. Their sound effectively combines the ominous percussion of "cold wave" bands like Killing Joke with eloquent melody lines reminiscent of U2. Powered by Ralph Hall, accurately listed in the band's promo material as playing "loud drums", and Mark Long's striking vocals. Their complex instrumentals are enhanced by that pissed off energy that makes for great rock 'n roll. The Opposition still have a huge following in France and have been much praised by Thomas Dolby who requested them as an opening band for a number of dates.

The "Lost Album" harks back to the early eighties when the band changed labels and left an album on the shelf, tied up in contractual wilderness. At last now available, it features two versions of their popular single, "This Year" and a host of other tracks unheard of before now. Remastered and digitised under the caring hands of lead singer Mark Long, "Lost Album" is a vital piece of rock history.
