Nisus was in many ways a crossroads of sounds for Out Out. On this third album, Mark Alan Miller stretched out into some of his more rock tastes, while keeping a foot firmly planted in the dense electronics of the preceding Finched album. Some Out Out fans herald Nisus over Pepperbox Muzzle as the strongest release of the first decade of Out Out.

Out Out is a pioneering Industrial/Electronic/Rock band, mentored by Tackhead and often compared to earlier NIN, mid-period Ministry and sometimes Skinny Puppy. Originally signed to Tackhead member Skip McDonald's label Axis, then later to Metropolis Records.

Now running their own label, Radio Valkyrie Records, Out Out is celebrating a new era for independent music.
