The Fighting Sleep EP tells the story of how TheSecondLetter (TSL) grew up with insomnia and carried it into his adult life. Each song serves as a short-story illustrating the ways insomnia has affected him, life experience has influenced him and the outlets he uses to cope with both. To call Fighting Sleep an album is not quite accurate. This EP is more a proof of concept--an experiment. TSL meshes his experience as an emcee and singer in numerous live bands with his love for alternative hip hop and experimental electronic music. TSL's delivery is thought provoking and hard hitting at times. His verses often paint vivid pictures in the minds of listeners. Fighting Sleep is a unique mixture with classic status potential.
