Retrogenesis is the debut album from the Toronto-based electro-industrial-chiptune project Volt 9000. Taking heavy inspiration from bands like OhGr, Skinny Puppy, Nine Inch Nails, Daft Punk, Aphex Twin and the like, Volt 9000 takes a unique twist on the "chiptune" genre, fusing distorted beats, glitchy synths, 8-bit low-fi processing, and vocals that sound like they're pumped through a Sega Genesis.
