âThis album all started I suppose on a dark cold wintery night back on 18 December 2009, my world was turned upside down. I was very badly assaulted, it was life threatening and left me partially blind in one eye and put me in rehabilitation for two years.

In those two years a lot of thinking and revaluating on life relationship truth and lies and about life in general, also how lucky I was.
I found myself compelled to sit down and write to express my emotions and thoughts into lyrics. I used the chords I knew on guitar to find the melodies to accompany the lyrics.

Over an 18 month period, I posted the acoustic versions of the songs on YouTube via my webcam.
The response was amazing, 80,000 views and 3500 subscribers and still rising. This response became a driving force to expand on and create a fuller sound to my original acoustic song versions.

Twist of fate

I knew I wanted to expand on my original acoustic songs but I had no band.
I caught up with an old friend and music producer Rick Fitzgerald. We had been neighbours from 20 years ago; we had lost contact for over 10 years.
Whilst in conversation I mentioned my YouTube experience and played him the acoustic songs Iâd written. â

âWhen I last met Brian 10 years ago he was more a case of (bite first and bark later). Also he had never shown a thought to writing a song or played guitar.
So my response on hearing Brianâs songs was one of amazement.
Here is a man who has been ultimately tested, Brian had bounced back from an experience that would have killed most people mentally and physically, He was writing lyrics on social comment with the consciousness from the man on the street. I found his songs very visual; they were like scenes from a movie.
There was obviously a style which Brianâs followers on YouTube related to in his lyrics and vocal delivery.
Brian wanted to expand on the songs but still maintain the essence of his YouTube song versions so as not to be over produced distort Brianâs characters.
When cooking with music I to like have the five spices, lyrics melody rhythm with a twist of lemon and sugar. We hope all these ingredients can be found in the albumâ.



Brian and Rick have known each other for 20+ years as they were neighbours, but lost touch for 10 years and then reunited with Brianâs song writing and they formed Madstadd13




Biography
Brian Higgins was born in Reading England to a working class family but brought up hard. Brian plays rhythm acoustic guitar and vocals Madstadd13 a band that was put together by Brian and his old friend and neighbour Rick.



Rick Fitzgerald Born in England to a tailor and working class family. From a very young age he had a love for music. Rick has been in several bands and also produces from his own studio. Rick plays lead guitar


The album entitled A Sound A Vision is a reflection of True to life lyrics with a feel good rock sound:

A Vision - the last track on the album was written on what went through Brianâs mind as he awoke from his first operation in hospital and the thoughts of possibly going blind and how precious sight is.
This was the first song wrote and began the birth of this lyrically true to life album.

Empty Heart - this was a track that Brian lyrically collaborated with over you tube and came out as a great rock ballad and just had to go on this album.
Music - the song music was lyrically written about his good friend and Music producer/lead guitarist Rick Fitzgerald whose love for music is his life.

This album is proof that something good can come from something bad.
