Details:
From some mysterious antenna planted in north San Diego County once transmitted the sounds of Orchard Valley Killers. Following up their instrumental classic The Burnt Over District, their long-awaited follow-up lyrical album, North County Vespers Service, is available. Here you'll find Grafton and Dixon transition from the sci-fi/western instrumentals of District to warm-fuzzy-folky-country. In addition, Grafton's patented apocolyptic, Central California Valley Depression-era lyrics are now featured, which include some original versions of what are now considered Black Oak Hymnal standards.
Before forming Black Oak Hymnal, Grafton Silos hunkered down with bassist Dixon Hodges in their own Studio Five Fifty-Eight, where they spent most of the past decade crafting their sound that embraced equal parts science fiction, spaghetti westerns, horror, and Southern California sunshine, smog, breezes, and traffic. In that time, they recorded several albums that were until now never made available to the public. Vespers is the second installment of much anticipated Orchard Valley Killers albums.
