Orchard Hill Church is a contemporary community church located just North of Pittsburgh, PA.

Music is and has always been a vital and central part of the 15 year old mega church in Wexford. Gathering some of the most gifted musicians in the area, they have put together one of the top bands in church music today. Featuring Joe Feick, the music Director on piano/keys, and Dan Shields, the worship director on guitars, this CD features some hard hitting instrumentals that they play to welcome people in the doors as the church service begins.

Dynamic and exciting, this blend of instrumentals ranges from Stevie Wonder's hard rockin, horn section driven 'I Wish' to the sublime and contemplative solo acoustic guitar piece-'Lordâs Prayer'.

3 numbers feature Bob Banergee on violin, long time member of the group Gaelic Storm-the band featured in the movie Titanic, showing off his fiddle chops on fun Irish rocker, Toss the Feathers, and the sweeping and moody A Thousand Summers.

Dan Shields is featured on several ripping guitar solos, including Robben Fordâs Revelation, and the Rippingtonsâ Indian Summer. With chops ranging from Larry Carlton sounding jazz lines, to ripping rock solos, Shields burns it up on these tracks. He also gets to show off his mellow side on the solo acoustic piece The Lordâs Prayer.

Dan Gouchnour, also on guitar throughout the CD, is the featured soloist on Shakin the Shack, showing his bluesy side, reminiscent of Robben Ford. Check out the animated and electric trade section at the end, as he and Saxophonist Curtis Johnson battle it out musically.

Speaking of Curtis Johnson, he was the sax professor at West Virginia University for over 20 years and saxophonist for too many names to mention. Always fun to watch and listen to, he shows his wares throughout the CD on Tenor, Alto, Soprano, and even Flute on Toss the Feathers. Listen to his soulful solo on Revelation to get a feel for great playing.

The rhythm section includes Rick Dickerson on drums, Derrick Edwards on percussion, and Tom Bellin on bass. 3 exceptional players, their credits include many of the best artists in Pittsburgh and the nation. You can hear Tom's intense chops as he comps the violin line on the breakdown of Toss the Feathers. He flawlessly dances through a line that makes seasoned violinists sweat.
Derrick was known from the cutting edge MTV style music show Light Music, where he was the 'house drummer'. Now he fashions himself to be Orchard Hills own Tito Puente!
Rick Dickerson is a well versed drummer, with great jazz and fusion chops, as well as hard hitting rock chops. His solo CD features a few of the best players in the world, including Mike Stern on guitar, Victor Wooton on bass, and Kirk Wahlum on sax.

The ensemble is rounded out with Rick Gallagher on keys. Be sure to check out Rickâs CDâs on CD baby, where he getâs to show off his straight ahead jazz chops. He sounds like a mix of Vince Guaraldi and Bill Evans. On this CD however, he attacks the B3 with a vengeance, and also plays lovely textures throughout.

And finally itâs Joe Feick on piano. Joe began the music program 15 years ago and saw it grow to what it is today. He is featured on A Thousand Summers, and is the anchor that sees to hold everything together.

We hope you enjoy your listening experience.

Enjoy!!
