Founded in October of 2009, XIV Hours performs at numerous functions around Durham Academy, including our annual WISER A Cappella Jam co-hosted with our non-auditioned 60-member ensemble, Acapocalypse, and featuring many high school groups from the Triangle area. In the 2010-2011 school year we got outside of DA as well, with a performance at a Durham Bulls baseball game; two Contemporary A Cappella Recording Award nominations and one win for our debut CD, The Acapelican EP (also available on CD Baby); inclusion on the compilations Sing 7: Lucky and BOHSA 2010-11; and a trip to Nashville to both audition for the NBC show The Sing-Off and perform at the Hard Rock Cafe.

Durham Academy is an independent, coeducational day school with 1,140 students in pre-kindergarten through grade 12, and welcomes students of any race, creed, color or national origin. The school annually awards over $1,600,000 in need-based financial aid.
