I am so glad to have this opportunity to write to you - and hope that one day our paths will cross so that we can share the joy of my music together.
I am Rockin' Grandma and I wrote the Rockinâ Grandma music, lyrics and books for my grandchildren who range from 6 months to 6 years â and they loved it. They especially loved the song about The Broken Robot. So I created the character Sam - he was born with a broken ( handicapped) arm but that doesn't stop him from doing anything he wants. And he is a lot smarter than anyone else in his family. He has a very good attitude, and solves problems in interesting ways. His adventures not only tell the story of his family members but also about the Little Farm on which his grandparents live. We actually ( Rockin' Grandma - that's me - and my husband) live on a small organic farm right in the middle of a very large city. Our grandchildren, grandnephews and nieces, their parents and everyone else's children and parents too, love to come and visit with us - to see our goats and chickens, the tilapia fish and koi that we raise, and also the 300 organic fruit trees and vegetables of many kinds. I make cheese, relishes, jams, breads and marmalade so there is always something cooking at The Little Farm.Through Sam and his friends in The Pretend Family, many lessons are learned. For example - how to respect nature and animals ( of course Sam talks to animals and when the children are with him they can too!). The children learn how to take care of other creatures large and small and also how to share with each other. They learn to make others feel happy and think up solutions, with Sam, to problems. They learn to love school, to be encouraged by music and rhythm to dance every day - which makes the heart feel light and free - and to make up silly words, songs and moves.
My grandchildren just love all of it.
So I decided to share all of the above with you and with the world. The children dance to the beat and learn the words ( even if they canât read yet!) Such is the miracle of music, rhyme and rhythm. I love to cook too â and so do my grandchildren. On my site I provide free recipes and tips that come along with my music and stories and welcome hearing from YOU so that I can include your stories and experiences on our site. Here are some testimonials about our music and Sam, The Broken Robot.

We play Samâs songs in the car â over and over again. Amazing how The Broken Robot Song is the childrenâs absolute favorite
Estelle from Los Angeles
I love that we can look at the books and the delightful illustrations, listen to the narrations and songs, ( we are in love with Arf by the way) or just listen to the songs without the narration â all on my IPAD or Iphone or Ipod. We downloaded everything! Its so portable â comes to the lake, in the car or at Gran and Papaâs house. The kids love it and so do my parents â finally something that we all like and listen to, together. Thanks Rockinâ Grandma!
Melanie from Chicago
I am grandmother to 4 children between the ages of 2 and 6, both boys and girls, and every time I see them, they ask me to read them the Sam, The Broken Robot stories. They love the music and dance and jump up and down. We have such a good time watching them have fun! I wish there were more Sam books â keep them coming!
Carla from Minneapolis
The lyrics in the songs are so appropriate for our little ones who are twin boys of four. There is Rap, African music, great melodies easy to remember, and even though our children cannot read yet, they have memorized many of the words, the tunes are so catchy. We play these almost every day. And what I like the most is that when I am busy with one child, the other will be entranced by the stories and narrations, and is happy to play alone until we are done. Love the product.
Laura from New Jersey
What I like the most, is that my two year old, four year old and also the six year old ( boys and girls) all love the music and illustrations. I have never found products that could entertain all three children at once. I LOVE these songs, narrations and books â and the children each wanted their own Samâs Special box â so grandparents helped out!
Lana from Atlanta
I know you will love my books and the catchy songs that I wrote along with Michael Lyn, the guitarist performer who is featured on these CD's. I was blessed to work with him, as well as Crystal Clulee, the amazing three-octave-range singer on many of the songs (I do The Potty Song and The Broken Robot Song) as well as Robert E. Longley our miraculous Sound engineer and Franklin Josephs our talented mastering expert. Leona Jaeger was the creator of all the adorable characters in the book.
