A collection of songs reflecting our somewhat eclectic approach to music. We don't really think of ourselves as having a style, though we are heavily influenced by artists from the late 60's. We like it and hope you do too.

Related styles: Rock: Retro-Rock, Pop: Quirky, Type: Lyrical

People who are interested in Bob Dylan Dire Straits Janis Joplin should consider this download.

Details:
Dumb Blind luck consists of: Bob Forrest - guitar, vocals and percussion; Cookie Leonard - keyboard, violin and vocals; Mike Alkema - bass, trumpet and vocals; and Tony Lago - drums and vocals. We were assisted on this album by David Holt - lead guitar on about half of the songs; Cindy Lortie - flute on "Gamekeeper"; and Jim Neal - short lead guitar break on "Magic".
Bob and Cookie are the primary songwriters, but the overall arrangement is done "on the fly" by the whole band. Sometimes Cookie or Bob will dictate a certain part to be played for a particular song, but the general philosophy is, "here's what I do, make up something that fits".
We have been playing the coffeehouse circuit in the Tampa Bay area of Florida and have appeared on radio stations WMNF and USF's Bulls Radio.
Cookie tends to tap into emotions a lot in her songs and there is a lot of feeling in them. Bob's songs are more often narrative stories.
We intentionally used the studio to do things we can't do when playing as a three or four piece band, like having Cookie song four part harmony with herself on "Life Takes It's Time" or having bass, keyboard, violin and trumpet play at the same time on "Wake Up The Dead"
