ROCK: Modern Rock, ROCK: Emo
Details:
When Ralph Oyaga bought his first second-hand guitar for 10 dollars at age 16, he had no idea where his passion for music would lead him. He soon became a staple of the Hollywood scene, collaborating with countless bands before settling on a sound all his own. He is the Founder and CEO of LXIX Music productions (LXIXmusic.com), a company whose mission is to find and develop artists in the Rock genre. Ralph graduated from Law School and is working on specializing in Entertainment Law. But above all, Ralph continues to write music that touches people throughout the world.
An excerpt from his essay "The Sound Of Inspiration" speaks volumes about his love for Rock:
"I came to America the summer before my thirteenth birthday. It was here that I finally met music face to face. Or, better said, it was here that I finally got to see the artists that made the music that I loved, face to face. I started attending every rock concert or festival that hit town. At these events, I found a whole new dimension of intensity connected to music. There was an endless wave of energy that moved back and forth between the artist and the audience. It was a rhythmic kiss between lovers, one giving in to the feeling with reckless abandon, but then stopping, long enough to give the same amount of pleasure to the other in return. This was the music at its peak, giving as well as receiving. This was the moment I realized that music was no longer my shelter, but rather my destination. I came to the realization that I could no longer just receive inspiration from music; I needed to give inspiration through it. A short time after, I taught myself how to somewhat play guitar. From that moment on, until this day, I have sung and played music to try to give back some of what I found. I believe that music is the one thing that can transcend all boundaries. No border or language barrier can stop it from reaching the minds of those in need. I am hopeful that my songs will reach out to people throughout the world, and perhaps, they too will hear the sound of inspiration I once heard."
