Details:
Old Scratch has been described by fans as "The Black Pope of Rap." This description suits him just fine. A lover of all things morbid and macabre, he has devoted his life to exploring any and all means of horror-centric entertainment, and bringing the best and worst of it to you.

As a musician, Scratch seamlessly blends the genres of Industrial and Hip-Hop to create a unique sound that he has dubbed "Darkside." The equation is simple: One part thick beats, one part creepy synth, one part skilled rhymes, one part righteous indignation, and one part comedy, all topped off with a final liberal dose of old-fashioned spookshow sensibilities. Mix it all together and you've got something that falls somewhere between goth and gangsta, with a whole lot of humor heaped on top.

Scratch's lyrical content centers mostly on the critique of society and art, though he works hard to avoid coming off as preachy. He believes that the first step toward solving a problem is to identify it... And identify it he does! With his mental crosshairs he takes aim at the commerce that is commonly mistaken for artistic vision. He unabashedly trashes the way that mass media encourages idiocy, shallowness, and the promotion of the victim mentality; and then fires away with his verbal arsenal. He derides modern music as being mindless, lifeless, heartless, and spineless. He points an accusatory finger at the industry that has made it this way by shamelessly forcing its mind-numbing drivel onto the masses, while intelligent artists with positive messages are being all but ignored. All of this is done through sardonic humor and by drawing parallels between the way the world works and the way a horror movie is formatted.
