Steve Osheyack is an artist of the âthird kindâ. In other words, he is not out to impress anyone, although his music has a way of touching the universal soul, and demanding thoughtful consideration of his lyrical endeavors. He is driven to create music that he hears in his head and words that call him incessantly until they are put onto paper and then formulated into song. Heâs never wanted to be a âpop starâ, never yearned for popularity. Heâs just an ordinary guy whoâs pursued by voices urging him to write his thoughts down and set them to music. And the only way to get âthemâ to leave him alone is to do just that. If you asked him, heâd tell you that heâs not a very complicated person, but clearly there are some deep trolling thoughts which hold a steady theme through-out all of his compositions. This twenty song collection represents a yearâs work. While there were certainly many more songs written and recorded during this time frame, these are the ones that fell together to tell a story of love, commitment, loyalty, aging, hope and other things that life presents to us all. Osheyack is very much like a human sponge, in that he is very aware of the world around him and can immerse himself in another personâs feelings, then create a song that is written as if it was his personal experience. At the same time, Osheyack is a loner, who prefers to keep the world at a comfortable distance. Osheyack sees the process of creating a musical CD as much more than creating individual songs, but rather that each work, should be part of the foundation of the entire collection and that each song is part of the bigger story. What follows is Osheyackâs motivation behind each of the songs in this particular collection.

1. JUST ONE RING - âThis is certainly a song about my 23 year relationship with my wife. If any song has ever described the kind of person that I am, then this would be the one. While writing this song, I often had Johnny Cash floating in and out of my thoughts and as a matter of fact, Johnny and his song âI Walk The Lineâ make an appearance to underscore my own faithfulness in this very important relationship.â

2. DIAMONDS SET IN GLASS - âThe human experience is supposed to be about personal growth and it can be a very painful process at times. This song is about prodding someone to move through the next set of doors in their life.â

3. FIELD OF BROKEN ARROWS - âThis is a song about doing the right thing for the greater good of people who may not be aware of one personâs selfless motivation. Often times, these people are greatly misunderstood and eventually end up being crucified.â

4. LIGHT IN THE DISTANT - âA song of hope in the face of the many trials and tribulations that life presents to those who are actively engaged in the journey and refuse to allow themselves to be stuck in the rut of life.â

5. JUNKYARD DOG - âA song about growing old and realizing that in our society, growing old is like growing insignificant. Our lack of respect for the aged is one of Americaâs biggest disgraces.â

6. ONLY LOVE SHALL LAST - âThere is a sacred relationship between a parent and a child and when this bond is broken, it is a tragedy that has far-reaching implications. This song is about a parent at the end of their life, hoping that when this life is over, they can find their child on the other side of the veil and rediscover the love that brought them together in this life in the first place.â

7. LET LOVE BE THE MAGIC - âA song about the very real ability of love to heal broken hearts, if the ego can be set aside long enough to allow it to work itsâ magic. Unfortunately, most people think too much and miss the true nature of the words spoken by the many prophets who have come through-out the ages.â

8. HARD LUCK HEART - âItsâ a very hard thing to remain faithful, loyal and unfettered in this world that we live in. Paradoxically, you almost have to develop a tough skin to remain open and sensitive to the world around you.â

9. TAKE A CHANCE ON ME BABY - âAn upbeat song about love and long term commitment, by a guy whoâs done with the game of evaluating his entire life to determine his own self-worth.â

10. CIRCLE GAMES - âIf you really pay attention, you can see that life is really like that movie called âGroundhog Dayâ. We seem to know it too, on some level, but we seem to continue on with the same old lessons and same old characters in our own lives, playing out the same old games.â

11. SQUARED OFF NERVE - âA song about a person who is done allowing themselves to be used and is moving on with their life.â

12. PEACE RUMBLES ON - âPeace of mind is very much a personal choice. The choice to live your life as a soap opera and the choice to live a very ordinary existence is at the very root of enlightened living. Itsâ there for all of us, but it obviously is very difficult to achieve, otherwise there wouldnât be so much heartache, pain and suffering in the world.â

13. NO DESTINY - âThis is a song about the sometimes lonely search for oneâs real purpose in life and the very sad realization that it is often discovered too late in life.â

14. AINâT NO FINISH LINES - âIt is sometimes a very difficult path to take the road less traveled. People who are trailblazers are often times subject to ridicule and misunderstanding on this journey through life. This is a song about a person who wants no part of the so-called game.â

15. TWENTY ONE - âIâve always tried to chronicle the years of my relationship in songs for my wife. This song hearkens back to a walk we took on the day I proposed to her and the chimes blowing in the wind and how chimes have always been a part of our story.â

16. AND THE ROAD GOES ON - âA blues song about growing older and the hard reality that living dumps at your doorstep from time to time.â

17. PRESENCE OF THE PAST - âThis is a song about moving forward in life, while still chained to the past and trying to make a concerted effort to break the chains, so they donât keep reappearing in different forms.â

18. SPLINTERED BONE - âA song about facing the sometimes grey reflection of reality in life and doing the best you can, with what you have.â

19. STEALING LIGHT - âPersonal demons and self-doubt are our biggest obstacles in this life. This song is a call to battle to fight the shadows that stand between the many people who battle depression in their lives.â

20. NO NEED TO BE FORGIVEN - âThis song serves as a reflective warning to the hardness that develops in a personâs heart should they miss the underlying message of love and forgiveness that embodies the rest of this work. In a sense, it is the very opposite of the first song in this collection.
