Description:

(ID 1482485)
An unusual blending of rock, blues, reggae, and mystery genres, but most of all, a fun album to sing and dance along with.

14 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Modern Rock, BLUES: Rockin' Blues

Details:
When was the last time you had a really fun album, one you could dance to, one to which you could scream out the lyrics and laugh your heine off? Well, OBJECT has an offering for you. You want rock? It's here. You want Reggae? You've got it. You want dark blues? OBJECT serves it up. You want something weird and different? Look no further.

Here's a synopsis of some tunes.

"Old Man Bones": On your deathbed, what story will you have to tell? If you don't get too depressed, you'll find yourself dancing to this syncopated blues/rock number

"Elbow Room": Everything from your dead-end job to your wife and her mother crowding in on you? Then, you need some elbow room-and lots of it.

"Outside Your Window": Does everything seem normal, but at the same time everything seems strange, weird, and menacing? This piece, driven by a hard bass line, contemplates the oddities right before us.

"Wound Too Tight": We all know someone who is constantly spun up. This poor fellow has got himself involved with a woman that is "so tense she'd make coffee nervous."

"Retro-fit Hog Light": Image what Tom Waits would sound like if he grew up in a swamp. Rollin Bones coughed up a spleen trying to sing this one. Good thing we've all got two.

"Hear My Call": A Reggae anthem decrying the world's injustice (what other theme would a Reggae song have?). It is driven by a samba beat and tickled with a background lead played with twin reverb-not you average Reggae number.

"Nietzsche's Monkey": You haven't heard anything that sounds quite like this. Graduate students in Rhetoric, Critical Theory, and Post-modernist studies will be glad to know someone is finally writing music for them.

"Blues Dark as the Night": Hey, B.B. King. Looking for a song? Slow dark blues, the kind you hear coming out of a run-down dive on a cold, dreary night.

"Who Needs Work?": Stripped down Reggae tune, slow to match the narrator's life in which he "sleep all day, drink all night, get thrown out for fightin' with the wife."

"I'm Against It": What has happened to America? Everything is going to Hell in a Gucci purse. Fed up with the I.R.S.? Wonder what boneless chicken is? Tired of people blaming everything on stress? Had it up to here with potted meat and cheese in a can? Well, then you're a member of the generation for whom-whatever it is-YOU'RE AGAINST IT!!!

"Break Song": Every band needs to take a break, and when they do, each member of the band gets to show off his/her "musical acumen" and "talent" (Grammatical note: quotation marks are not used for emphasis).

"Mexico 98": Join percussionist PigWig Jackson and six of her friends on their adventures in Merida, Valladolid, Uxmal, and other sites in Mexico. Marvel at their inability to speak Spanish. Share their hunger pains as they cry out for camarones.

Much Thanks from OBJECT,
Rollin Bones, Prehensile Dale, Art Rythic, Buster N. Lester, and, of course, PigWig Jackson
