Ozzie's dream is to introduce a different style of mainstream music into today's stressful world. Today, people are constantly struggling with the pressures of life. He hopes to offer comfort to all those with tearing eyes and aching souls. He believes that music can be therapeutic. He found that music is, and will always be, an everlasting fountain that allows him to express his inner most thoughts. Ultimately, he wishes to touch peoples hearts with true emotion.
Ozzie is a 22 year old recording artist who grew up in Dix Hills, Long Island NY. As a child, he always enjoyed singing but never took it very seriously. His passion for music began to grow while he was enrolled at Binghamton University in upstate New York. He began his college career initially on the premed route, because he always thought he would become a doctor like his father and older brother. While studying premed classes, he was also involved in an a cappella group "The Binghamton Crosby's" who won the ICCA National Finals at the Beacon Theater on Broadway in 2003. After continued success in the group, he felt more affinity to music than to medicine. So in the middle of his college career, he was confronted by a life changing dilemma. To either purse his passion or to continue on the path of medicine. In the end, his passion won. From that point on he seriously began writing,producing, and recording. But still, he did not neglect his education. Recently, he graduated with a degree in Biology.
After Ozzie produced his first small album, he began performing in the New York City Club scene as a solo artist. This past summer he performed at "Club Coda", the world renowned club "Roxy" in front of 2500 people, the posh lounge "151", and was honored to perform the Star Spangled Banner at the Mets vs Pirates game at Shea Stadium on August 18th, 2005 in front of 34,000 people.
Due to its great crowd reaction, Ozzie decided to re-record his track "Treasure The Moment". So he went back to the studio. He began working with his friend, producer David Anthony, who has worked with stars like Janet Jackson in the past. David added some additional programming to Ozzie's original production and melody. With more vocal harmony and percussion, the team added all the necessary "ear candy" for a mainstream Pop/Rock record. To top it off, the record was mixed at Wyclef Jeans Studio, Platinum Sound in New York. As the executive producer, Ozzie oversaw the mix process done by both David Anthony, and at that time, Puffy's mix engineer, Jeff Crews.
For the arduous task of radio promotion, Ozzie went to Promoters Bill Jerome of Jerome Promotion and Gary Lefkowith of Add Promotion. Both who are nominated for New Music Weekly awards in radio promotion this year and are well respected. Through their promotion, they were able to push "Treasure The Moment" up the New Music Weekly charts. The record is still climbing, and God wiling, will continue to climb. In a short period of time the record has done incredibly well and is on its way to the Top 40 chart.
Currently, Ozzie is working on his next album which will include his debut single "Treasure The Moment". The album will encompass a wide spectrum of emotions all within the Pop genre. Each song will have its individual identity and the correct music to accompany it. You will find hints of Ozzie's personality infused throughout all his music. His coming singles "Flame" and "Don't Cry" will offer the listener heartfelt sentiment into each topic. You will never find one of his records lacking in purpose and meaning. And that's what Just Us Records is all about.
"Treasure The Moment" is a record that was inspired by the Tsunami of 2004. Ozzie, along with his best-friend and mother Dolly, wrote the lyrics of the song together. Their lyrics were inspired by an event of tragedy, giving them better insight into the frailty of life. They believe that the record can be related to any unfortunate event and provides a sense of optimism for men and women of all ages. The chorus states:
