ROCK: Progressive Rock, ROCK: Modern Rock

Details:
The songs are: -

Duke â is about a poseur, an egocentric who slips in and out of situations and relationships.

New Orleans â Is mainly autobiographical, a travelling song but reflective with poetic imagery. It was written by Daf after he and his wife Danielle took a road trip to New Orleans a few months before the hurricane hit. He was inspired by the 'faded glory' of the area...

Celandine â About lost childhood days and someone chancing upon a photograph of a long forgotten childhood haunt.

Ideal Home Exhibitionism â an ironic look at home ownership and consumerism generally.

Driving Song â A late night mood song that takes you part of the way through an epic journey.

These Days â A ballad with a mixed narrative where the past and present are intertwined. Sadness and regret surface as the narrator tells his story.

Sweet Petite â Looks for the epic in the ordinary and everyday. Describes a city for one day and the roller coaster ride of living there is reflected in the complex musical structure of the song.

The Band are: -

Rick Gourd
Ever since picking up his first guitar Rick Gourd has written songs. His influences are broad and eclectic and range from bluegrass and rock'n roll to the songs of The Beatles and Bob Dylan. He loves to write richly narrative, emotional and evocative songs with strong melodic structures, interesting chord patterns and time shifts. When Rick met like minded co-writer Daf Warren two styles and imaginations were successfully intertwined into the sound that can now be uniquely defined as 'Ozone Terrace'.

Daf Warren
Daf is a twenty eight year old creative talent (who disparagingly calls himself a âpseudo musicianâ) living in the Central Massif of mainland Britain. His influences include The Pixies, Sonic Youth, Robert Johnson, and Billy Bragg to name but a few. If he didnât write songs Daf would very probably write very bad poetry and drink too much. He has travelled a bit and sat around a bit more and would like to do more of the same to devote himself to his music with Ozone Terrace.

Will Helton
Will was born in Lower Alabama, USA and was heavily influenced by bands with more active and melodic bass lines such as The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Marshall Crenshaw, The Smiths, Tommy Keene, and The Jam.
He first met Rick in the mid 90âs and was just knocked out by his songs eulogising that he has such a completely fresh, inventive approach to writing. He says that you can tell that Rickâs songs start on the inside and find their way out through his fingers and don't come to life just because somebody once played 3 three chords he thought were cool so he copied them.

Ray Thomas
Influences including the Everly Brothers, Del Shannon plus the massive impact of The Beatles, The Kinks, The Hollies and The Beach Boys led Ray to start drumming and doing gigs in his home steel-town of Port Talbot and in the Welsh valleys and vales. Rock music with melodies and harmonies, (which drew him to the music of Rick and Daf in Ozone Terrace); continued to be his musical influences through the work of bands like Crowded House, Gerry Rafferty, Coldplay and Keane. He counts Drum players Mick Avory and Jim Keltner as his idols amongst many others.

Dave Kedward
Dave has played keyboards for Ozone Terrace for four years and has been heavily involved in the music scene for a number of years His love of music led him to successfully graduate with a BA (hons) in Sound Technology from the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA) in 1998.
