Details:
My Mind & My Shoes is Slightly Somethingâs first full band studio effort featuring ten original songs highlighting the bandâs ability to play high energy full band sets as well as laid back acoustic sets released January 2006. The album captures the bandâs improvisational skills as well as their ability to feed off of each other and expand musical ideas in a synergistic manner.

Homegrown in Northern Virginia, Slightly Something created a whirlwind in the college scene when they formed under the name of Evergreen Terrace in Harrisonburg, VA while singer/songwriter Osama Malik attended school at James Madison University. Now he's back in his hometown taking the local music scene by storm with a matured yet still developing sound that is resonating with more than just the college crowd. The members of Slightly Something are quickly becoming seasoned alumni at some of the regionâs most admired music festivals.

Having been together for over three years now, this mix of friends from high school, college, and family, each bring a unique style and musical influence that creates an original blend of talent and energy that is brought out through their live performances and extended improvised jams. Having shared the stage with nationally touring bands like Better Than Ezra, SR-71 and Virginia Coalition, Slightly Something can be found both playing high energy full band shows as well as more laid back acoustic shows depending on the venue.

Slightly Something "has a wonderful life in its music seldom to be found in college bands. There is talent jammed into each song and coming out its ears, from intense riffs by Parrell to the classically trained Maskey lending soul and heart. Especially standing out are the harmonies between Malik and Maskey, sublime and flowingâ¦have a remarkable sharpness and energy to their guitar parts, so much so that they bring to mind a duel between Dave Matthews and Tim Reynoldsâ¦driving, jazzy bass, who, along with Hardwick, manages to sneak melody and sound into a part previously there to keep time."
