Details:
Welcome to the CDBaby home of The Slides! In the eighteen months since their formation, this tireless threesome have hit the streets bringing their enigmatic sound and adult-alternative, indie rock style to their seasoned band of fans. Combining a healthy dose of barefaced honesty, with a modern pop sensibilities, The Slides have drawn an evident influence from the likes of Neil Finn, Coldplay, Wilco, and Radiohead.

With the aptly titled full length debut effort âThe View from Hereâ released nationally in Australia through Reverberation in March 2006, The Slides have hit the ground running with an unapologetic yet earnest look at life, love and everything in between. A true feat for this talented trio, whose soul-selling antics have seen them literally crossing borders in an unorthodox departure from the standard EP for a first independent release.

Recorded in Australia by award winning engineer Dave Neil, and mixed at the legendary Rockinghorse Studios by Anthony Lycenko (Pete Murray, David Bowie, Elvis Costello, Moloko) the record is no amateur effort.

Featuring the unquestionable talent of Damon Fealy (lead vocals/guitar) Lincoln Retallack (bass/vocals) and Michael Grabbe (drums/vocals) you wont find these three lads lax in commitment or ability, having worked alongside some of the music industryâs local luminaries and international idols, including Blondie, Taxiride, Jimmy Barnes, Ice Cream Hands, The Anyoneâs, Dieselâ¦the list goes on.
