Details:
Compared to some bands in the European music scene the SLOW HORSES could be called ânewcomersâ- founded in 2001 they soon rolled their wheels through Germany.
Having played on any major Country Festival in Germany, in numerous clubs and parties, the audience enjoyed their musical presence, the perfect sound and performance of the band.
They soon started their way through Europe- beginning with their first CD released May 2003 on a major label (AGR-Universal) âMove Onâ, which became the best selling Album of an English-singing Country-Act in Germany 2003!
They made their way to several German TV-shows, had (and have!) their singles on rotation on the main German and European radio stations, being portrayed by magazines all over the scene.
In 2004 âMove Onâ, the videos for the singles âIâm still fallingâ and âShelterâ (both filmed in Nashville/TN) and the band have been nominated by the GACMF (German American Country Music Federation). As the show was broadcasted, the band toured the UK for the first time with great success.
Their second album âCross that lineâ (AGR-Universal) was released in June 2004 in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxemburg, UK, Norway and Poland. The first single âItâs not raining every dayâ made it on number 1 in the German Country Airplay Charts for 3 months in a row, besides being played on many radio stations in Europe, Australia and New Zealand.
2004 they played live in Vienna on the famous âDonauinselfestâ, on the big German festivals like the âTruck Grand Prixâ at the famous âNürburgringâ, as well as in the season 2005 in the UK again, France (âCountry Rendez-Vous in Craponne-sur-Azonâ), Belgium, Netherlands, supporting bands like Heather Myles, BR 5-49, Asleep at the Wheel and Dwight Yoakam.
In January 2005 they have again been nominated by the GACMF, and got the award for the âAlbum of the Yearâ for âCross that lineâ. The season 2006 found them again at numerous festivals all over Europe ( American Music Festival in Sambreville- Belgium, Country Festival in UK- Prestatyn near Liverpool), introducing their third album âSilent Skiesâ, which was released in April 2006. The European Country Music Association honoured them as âBand of the year 2005â, their song âI canât look at thatâ as âComposition of the yearâ.
