The Slapshoefly is high lonesome, rebel folk music. Two resenator guitars, and a snare drum hammering out tunes in a simple but rocking way.
17 MP3 Songs
COUNTRY: Country Folk, FOLK: Power-folk
Details:
The Appalachian Cascade Connection A.K.A. SLAPSHOEFLY, from the West Virginia Foothills to the California mountain pines. Slapshoefly originally formed in Nashville Tennessee in November of 2004, When a stupid hillbilly, Jason Conley, met up with the Ramblin' hippie outlaw Johnny Callahan who later introduced Jason to Captain Waymire, Avid Moralist/Musician. Aimlessly they found their way to the corner of 4th and Broadway playing their songs for the people. They later gathered their wits to practice and the Sunrise Dungeon Bootlegs were made. Then from one CD burner to the next the Dungeon cuts from David's living room leaked out into population. After having their first rehearsal recording stolen like an album they decided to roll heavy from one living room to the next. The Slapshoefly name actually came from a wild ride to Memphis. Johnny, Jason, and the Southside BerryPickers along with their manager Nolan ripped down Beale Street, slapin shoes and playin' songs for the people. At this point Jason took on the alter ego of Slap and the band shifted into Hell Drive. Afterword the band parted ways for a month. Slap went into the spirit world, Johnny Was lost to the Coolar Duff, and Dave took to the bank and various coffee shops. Now Slap emerges from the spirit world and finds Johnny in the Duff, as the Captain David Waymire comes full circle with the new recording, Slapshoefly "Decades in the Grain." The band's first World-Wide Release, available in April, 2006.
