Details:
Creatures of Habit, the second CD by Bill Slater and Mike Shellans, continues the duo's eclectic range of subjects. Songs in the new collection include:

"Kind of a Virgin", a grooving Reggae sing-along; "Funkity Chunk", an odd-metered funk song featuring the top horn players in Phoenix; "Stowaway to Heaven", a tongue-in-cheek C&W tune complete with pedal steel guitar and mandolin; "The Dark Side of the Dial", a musical protest against far-right talk radio, containing elements of The Doors and Steely Dan; and "Baby That's What I Call Love", which is a power pop MOR anthem.

Says Slater, "Creatures of Habit truly offers something for everyone, and showcases the talents of all the musicians who contributed to the overall amazing quality of this CD". Adds Shellans, "I was proud of our first effort, but I think this CD is even better."

Creatures of Habit follows Living in Absentia, which was released by Slater & Shellans early in 2005. Supported by Phil Janzen and Jeff Stanley on drums, the duo's new CD also features a number of guest artists, including guitarists Jimi Powers and Wilson Gillette (pedal steel), bassist Tony Severino, vocalists Mindy Nilson and Jim Severino, saxophonists Jerry Donato, Tyler Isaacson and David Chapp, trumpeter Dave Coolidge and trombonist Doug Robinson.
