Details:
Heavy, furious riffs, with melodic aggressive vocals, that ring in your head like a bell. Split The Enemy was formed in 2003 by brothers Zach & Skyler Martin (guitar & drums),and Landon Wiggs (bass). They started playing together after watching Zach & Skys fathers band rehearse at the brothers house. Nick Charles (vocalist) joined in early 2004 and the band started playing cover songs at the local pizza parlor.
They quickly gained a reputation around their respective schools as the band to see. Over the summer the band started to write their own music and get comfortable with their own unique style. The band quickly gained the same reputation for their original material.
In late 2004 they started pre-production with ex-KEDJ disc jockey & producer Michael Beck (Lost in Suburbia, Scary Hairy) of SoundVision Recording & soon after hit the studio to start recording their debut release. They released 2 songs from the upcoming release on a cd sampler & promptly sold 600 copies in 3 weeks. About that same time ,the disc also made it into the hands of KUPDs Larry Mac. The response to his playing a track on his Red Radio Underground show was so overwhelming that the follow up show (Into The Pit with with Marcus Meng) also played it & received the same response.
Since that time, the band has enjoyed airplay on both shows for over 3 months now & counting. They also have multiple articles from The Arizona Republic & the Gilbert Independent.
Larry Mac (Red Radio Underground-KUPD)- "Forget about the age factor, this band could be on any label out there"
Marcus Meng (Into The Pit-KUPD)- "Heavy riffs, great melody, every time I play them the response afterwards is, who is that!
