Noisy, raw, robust and beautiful. A rockin' instrumental trio that your parents won't like (unless they drink regularly).
9 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Progressive Rock, ROCK: Instrumental Rock
Details:
Spirit Tuck is an instrumental rock trio made up of three of the more respected Seattle musicians. Forrest Giberson (bass) and Michael Stegner (Rhodes) came to Seattle after touring with their Miami based quintet, The Jongleurs. They immediately developed a strong musical connection with Seattle drummer John Wicks. They performed regularly at many of the live music venues in the Seattle area for two years. This gave them the opportunity to develop an energetic and unique sound that has gained them fans throughout the Northwest. They played a regular Tuesday night in Seattle where they had guests such as Reggie Watts, Aiko Shimada, Wally Shoup and many more. Spirit Tuck is currently organizing tours and will begin playing in other venues on the West Coast. The versatility of the musicians in Spirit Tuck allow them to go many different musical directions. Their sound has allowed them to gain fans in rock and jazz communities.
John Wicks is currently playing with LA based singer/songwriter Heather Porcaro, punk/new wave band Soccermom, and with saxophonist Skerik's "Syncopated Taint Septet" (Ropeadope/WEA). He was featured in Downbeat Magazine in November 2003 in an article called "YOUNG DRUMS: 13 WHO WILL SET THE BEAT FOR THE FUTURE" By James Hale.
Forrest Giberson was in the prestigious University of Miami Concert Jazz Band where he had the opportunity to perform with internationally recognized artists such as Joe Henderson, Ira Sullivan, Maria Schneider, Chico O'Farril, and Gerry Mulligan. He has constantly performed with jazz and rock groups in the Miami and Seattle areas.
Michael Stegner has composed and performed constantly since his beginnings in the Jongluers. Since moving to Seattle he has performed and collaborated with Michael Shrieve (Santana), Lee Oskar (WAR), Reggie Watts (Maktub), Kevin Sawka (Siamese), Aiko Shimada, Jen Wood (Postal Service) and many more.
