With roots in old country, folk, rock and blues, The Spurloafers deliver a soulful sound reminiscent of the desert where they reside.

12 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Folk Rock, COUNTRY: Country Blues

Details:
The Spurloafers are a Tucson-based band with a style inspired by the surrounding desert. Their distinct style is a soulful blend of folk, rock, blues, and old country, offering the listener a repertoire that is at times intimate and thought-provoking, while at other times raucous and fun.

The songs on this album were written by singer/songwriter Denise Lane, a transplant from the San Francisco Bay Area. Arriving in Tucson in 2002, she immediately began playing music with drummer Ashley Chamberlain, with the intention of eventually forming a full band. For the next few years, Denise played out solo around Arizona. Finally, in the summer of 2005, Denise and Ashley decided to go for broke and record an album. Through this process, The Spurloafers were formed as Rob Martin, Dean Maier, and eventually Bruce Langevin joined the band. This album also features the hauntingly sweet fiddle style of Bill Hubbard and the lovely vocals of Sara Hubbard.
